Description: Judges from the TRT-MG participated in the 15th edition of the Integrated System for Judicial Management and Participation of the First Instance in the Administration of Justice of the TRT-3rd Region (Singespa). The event is part of the program for the 7th Judges’ Training Week, which began last Monday (October 7) in the auditorium of the Judicial School, though most of the 180 registered judges participated online. Appellate Judge Antônio Gomes de Vasconcelos, coordinator of the Judicial Cooperation Center at the TRT-MG, opened the event by highlighting the importance of Singespa: “Some of the early seeds of the Judiciary’s contemporary judicial policies were sown here, such as the policy to strengthen the trial courts—which is already enshrined in a resolution of the National Council of Justice—and the institution of judicial cooperation, which also originated in our Court,” he recalled. Closing out the lecture series, the third panel, “Between Robots and Robes: AI in Judicial Practice—Debates and Tools,” discussed the use of artificial intelligence within the judiciary. Retired TRT-MG appellate judge José Eduardo de Resende Chaves Júnior shared the panel with Aline Macohin, a systems analyst and attorney. During the presentation, they addressed the relevance of technology in judicial tasks and how judges and public servants can use artificial intelligence responsibly. National and international guidelines on the proper use of these tools were also presented.
